Just a quick blog to say everything is fine...just been too busy to blog! Spent all last weekend in the garden getting things tidied up for Summer (if that ever comes!) Planted all my flower seeds in the greenhouse but it hasn't been remotely warm enough for anything to start growing yet but hopefully it will start to warm up soon (I have still been wearing gloves walking the dog!)

The other big news is that we have planning permission for an extension at the back of house, which will be for a new kitchen and dining area. We now need to get a building warrant...and then find a trustworthy builder. It is all very exciting and we have been looking at kitchens and spent all afternoon trying to compare prices of various ones we quite like. I am not looking forward to the building work but can't wait until we have this extra space :-)

This week has been bitter-sweet in the world of CF. A girl from my hospital, Nicola, sadly lost her battle with CF this week. She was only 27 and although she has been unwell for quite a while it was still very unexpected. Then this morning I woke to hear the good news that another CF friend from my unit, Victoria, got her transplant this morning - after 8 false alarms! She is already starting to wake up and everything is going smoothly so far. Please keep both of them, and their families, in your thoughts please - not to mention the donor who made the wonderful decision to give the gift of life.

Hey Jac, a word of advice when looking for a builder - get one with a reputation for doing a good job AND not taking on extra jobs at the same time so each job takes much longer than it needs to. You want one who works quickly and efficiently but without cutting corners (tall order but they're out there somewhere!). Nothing worse than living in a building site - I should know having spent a lot of my childhood living like that cos of my builder dad!!

Hi Jacqueline, It was lovely to see you both and wee Seb at the weekend. I am very envious of your extension plans its going to look fab and will be worth all the building work!. Its great to look at all the lovely kitchens and things out there. Enjoy planning it all. So sorry to hear about your friend. We will be thinking of her family. We will also be thinking of your other friend and how fortunate she has been and wish her well. Its an amazing gift to get. Good luck with the building warrant and the builder!! Lol Anne xxxx

I am really sad to hear about your friend hun...such a young girl, just so unfair...my heart goes out to her family.
I like to hear that you've been real busy and stuff...I hope you took some time to relax after your orlando/volcanic experience!! I've finally realised that work si good, but, for me, in small doses. I went into overdrive, crashed and burned!! I had to test my body and it wasn't liking what I was doing too much so I had to stop. Things are good though, and yeh, great news for Victoria!! xxx
