Raffle
As a taster for the ball we are starting early with this amazing raffle prize - lots of top quality bottles in a lovely hamper! There is also a bottle of champers for the runner up :-)
Raffle tickets will be available at the ball and drawn on the night. However we are also opening this prize up for people not attending the ball, who would still like to support the cause - lucky you eh ;-)
£1 per ticket - if you are interested drop me an email at my own address or at teamglasgowATgmail.com. If you think you can sell a few tickets, then please feel free - all I need are the names and contact numbers for each ticket and I can fill out the tickets and put them in the draw.

Mum gave me a row....
....for not updating my blog. Better get to it then.
I have had a very busy mind over the last few weeks, which has not allowed much time for reflection, hence the lack of blogging. The weekend after Sarah's wedding I was at mum and dads all weekend, while Andrew jetted off for a stag weekend in Krakow. Not that I envy him at all - it sounded like a bit of a rabble to be honest and judging by the look of him on his return I was better off at home haha.
Mum and me popped down for the cousins night instead - a really good laugh, as always. Laura was home from America for a visit, which prompted a wee get together and catch up. Some of the stories told by my family really need to be written down in a book somewhere to provide much hilarity for generations to come!
The last couple of weeks have started the run up to the ball - which is next month on 18th August. We have a meeting with the hotel next week and need to give them an idea of final numbers and pay the final instalment....cue much running around trying to chase people for money :-) We have good numbers but not nearly as many as last time - I think the financial climate is a big issue to be honest. We kept the ticket cost the same as 2 years ago but I realise it is tough for people when you are watching the pennies. Anyway, we are continuning to sell tickets so do please get in touch if you fancy a nice out.
We are also now collecting prizes for the raffle and tombola. So if I have any crafty readers who fancy making us something (had a few people donate handmade jewellery, crafts etc) or you work somewhere that might donate vouchers (cafe, restaurants, cinemas, etc), or indeed you have a skill/service to offer (music lessons, photo shoot, hairdresser etc) then please feel free to drop me a line. Along these lines I have been creating some mini canvases of Hollywood icons (in keeping with the ball theme). There are stencil like, only 10cm x 10cm on tiny canvases with black pen. I am wondering about selling them before the ball, or selling at the ball to get an extra few pennies. Not sure what would be best and if it is something people would be interested in. Ideas welcome!! I will hopefully get time to also do a painting, but no promises haha.
Mum is going to make tablet to sell before the ball! I suggest getting your orders in pronto for that because it wont last long!!!
As well as the ball, I was also meant to be involved in an organ donor desk at the Wickerman Festival with Team Glasgow. We had thought it was just friday/sat but hadn't quite appreciated they expected vendors to arrive before 9am on the thurs and not leave until 10.30am on the sunday - 3 nights camping. I feel quite ill at the thought. My wee joints are not built for that and I am, quite simply, a total light weight. Victoria is hoping to get someone to fill in for me, as I can't get the Thursday off work anyway. That will teach us not to fully investigate something before diving in and signing up ;-) It is also National Transplant Week next week so I will start ranting about that in my next blog. I don't have anything specific organised this year, as really feeling stretched just between work, the ball and general life!
This weekend I am going to a fancy dress 30th birthday party.....pictures to follow :-)
