2 more sleeps

I finished work yesterday so today I am working myself into a wee frenzy!  Bags are packed, presents are all piled in the hallway waiting to go into the car......then it's off home to mum and dad's.  Then on boxing day down to Anne and Johns.  I love being with my family at Christmas!

Everyone knows Christmas can be a time of mixed emotions, where you look back over years gone past and wonder about what is still to come.   My love and thoughts are with everyone who has lost someone close to them this year, especially my friend Claire and her family.  Also dear Lu's family and my Uncle Kevin, who has just lost his dad.  Although it is a time when we miss people, it is also a time for family and for simply being together.   I think the feeling of forced jovility at Christmas can be hard for people - this is certainly something many of my patients struggle with.  I think we sometimes miss the point though.  Yes, I love Santa and presents, christmas trees and decorations, but most of all I just love spending time with people I love.  It's hard when someone is missing - my family know this all too well - but it is also a time to remember them and share those memories.  Joy can be about what we have and what has still to come, and I think this can go hand in hand with the sadness that someone is missing.   We don't really know what our story is, where the journey will take us and why certain things happen on the way.  I think I have mostly learned to accept this uncertainty but it isn't easy.   For my sisters Fran and Claire, and for those friends I have lost.

Though we're apart
You're in my heart
This Christmas
...and always

Wishing everyone a peaceful and magical Christmas  xxxx

How true Jacqueline - this Christmas cerainly will be different for us but we owe it to the woman Auntie Agnes was to move on and do our best to cope . She loved this time of the year and we have great memories of many happy times . Have a great Christmas I have it on good authority that Santa will be calling at Kirk Road .

Well said, as usual you manage to put into words what we all feel! Yes we will be thinking of all those missing but not missing in our hearts. We are looking forward to spending time with you all and we too love this time of year. We are so lucky to have what we have. Hope Santa can cope with all your parcels! Don't forget to leave him out a wee drinkie! I think he deserves it! Love to all and have a FAB day. lol Anne John and Ross xxx
